GreenKar Technical Service is a technical service currently designated by theIrish type approval authority NSAI (E24 – National Standards Authority of Ireland), theSwedish type approval authority STA (E5 – Swedish Transport Agency) and theCzech type approval authority MD ČR (E8 – Ministry of Transport of Czech Republic).
Thanks to these recognitions, it provides services aimed at obtaining type approvals with e24*, e5* and e8* marks respectively. Type approval is the procedure through which the type approval authority, following an Initial Assessment at the manufacturer, declares that a type of vehicle or device (including “systems”, “components” and “technical units”) complies with the relevant technical requirements once the tests required by the reference regulations have been carried out and passed.
The document certifying the obtaining of type approval is the type approval certificate, identified by an alphanumeric code. GreenKar Technical Service provides services aimed at obtaining global, partial and individual type approvals issued by various type approval authorities for the following types of vehicles/devices:
- Category M: motor vehicles intended for the transport of passengers and their luggage and having at least four wheels. Category M includes categories M1, M2, M3, depending on the total mass and number of total seats (passenger cars, buses, etc.)
- Category N: motor vehicles intended essentially for the transport of goods, having at least four wheels. Category N includes categories N1, N2, N3 (trucks)
- Category O: trailers intended for the transport of goods or passengers as well as for the accommodation of persons. Category O includes categories O1, O2, O3, O4, depending on the total mass (trailers and semi-trailers) according to EU Framework Regulation 2018/858 (formerly Framework Directive 2007/46/EC)
- Category L: two, three or four-wheeled vehicles. Category L includes categories L1e, L2e, L3e, L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e, depending on number of wheels, engine displacement, power, mass and bodywork (mopeds), according to EU Regulation 168/2013
- Category T: agricultural and forestry vehicles, agricultural trailers and semi-trailers. Category T includes categories of T and C tractors, R trailers and S towed interchangeable equipment, according to EU Regulation 167/2013

Devices, systems and technical entities, according to various EU and UN/ECE Regulations
These type approvals are valid throughout European territory and beyond, such as type approvals according to UN/ECE Regulations, valid in all those countries that are members of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Once type approval is obtained, the manufacturer can mass produce and market their products.
